Pogona is a kind of Australian agam involving several small and medium sized lizard species. These are omnivorous animals inhabiting the dry environment of the steppes and the periphery of the forest. The characteristic features are spiked scales located on the head and along the sides, as well as cartilaginous scaffolding that allows the skin folds on the chin, from which the common name comes from.
